A Deposit man is facing weapons charges following a traffic stop in Johnson City. 26-year-old Kamal Khawaja is being charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, along with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was pulled over after he ran a red light. Police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and found both the drug and a collapsible baton. The man was arraigned in village court and remanded to the Broome County Jail.
