The Broome County Sheriff’s Office used Narcan to save the life of another heroin overdose victim. A 59-year-old female was administered the drug, which reverses the effects of a heroin overdose, early this morning. A 911 call from a residence on Trim Street in Windsor reported an unresponsive female that was barely breathing. After the responding deputy learned that the unconscious woman had used heroin and mostly likely overdosed, he deployed the Narcan and performed rescue breathing. Within minutes the woman had regained consciousness and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
