Port Crane man gets 14 years for rape, sexual abuse

A Port Crane man has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison on rape and sexual abuse charges.

According to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, 33-year-old Stephen Pudiak was sentenced after being convicted of first-degree rape and sexual assault.

Pudiak engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with a physically helpless victim.

His most recent sentence will run consecutively with a previous sentence of three years in prison for criminal possession of a weapon.

Pudiak will also have to register as a sex offender following his release.
