A press conference was held at the Barton town hall yesterday. To announce that a proposal has been submitted to New York State for the installation of a well to collect natural gas from beneath a hayfield in Barton. Here’s Cub Frisbee, President of the Tioga County Farm Bureau with more. Frisbee is a member of the Snyder Farm Group, which is made up of 5 longtime Tioga County farm families. They plan to release the natural gas by using gelled propane, which is outside of the scope of the New York State ban on hydrofracking. Frisbee hopes this will be the start of something big in New York State. Many supporters were on hand for the press conference in Barton yesterday.
