A woodstove is believed to be the cause of a fire in the Village of Owego last night. The fire erupted at a home on Fulton Street. Flames affected the first floor, exterior and attic of the residence. There was only one resident in the home at the time of the fire, who managed to escape safely. Meanwhile, a neighbor noticed the flames and called 911. Owego Police were first on scene, The Owego, Tioga Center, and Apalachin fire departments all responded as well. The resident is expected to be able to move back into the home in the near future.
