Owego Little League program made history Friday night. For the first time in the program’s 66 year history a night game was made possible, thanks to the addition of stadium lights on Nick Raftis Memorial Field. The lights come from grants awarded by Fannie Hyde Trust, Floyd Hooker Foundation, and Plexicomm LLC. Four fields at Hyde Park will be getting stadium lights installed. The next will be the softball field next year. The Friday night game featured 12 year-olds who “aged out” of the program this year. It was prefaced by a well-attended pre-game lighting ceremony. The Owego little league program is free for those who play.
