The Towns of Owego and Union are looking at a program that could save residents on their utility bills. The state’s Community Choice Aggregation program allows municipalities to select the supplier of energy services for the entire town, allowing residents to save money, avoid sudden rate spikes, and combat energy telemarketers and door-to-door salespeople. Town of Owego Supervisor Don Castellucci and Town of Union Councilman Tom Augostini were special guests on today’s WEBO Morning Show. Union will hold a public hearing to discuss the issue on Thursday at 5pm at the Town Hall. Owego will hold a similar meeting at 11:30am next Tuesday at Tioga Opportunities and at 6pm in the Owego-Apalachin Middle School. All residents are invited to attend.
