The Towanda Borough Planning Commission rejected a plan to bring an outpatient mental health clinic to the borough.

The advisory board voted 6-2 against recommending the plans to the borough’s three-person zoning board.

The outpatient mental health clinic was looking to move into the former office of Dr. James Ferenzi at 12 Walnut Street in Towanda.

The application was submitted by the owners Attuned Counseling and Trauma Therapy, which has similar offices in Athens and Mansfield.

Several residents spoke out against bringing the clinic to Towanda during the meeting.
