Meanwhile the cause of the fire that destroyed Howie’s Pizza and Subs in Sayre back in November has been ruled “undetermined” by investigators according to the Sayre Fire Department. In agreement are separate findings from the business’s insurance company and Penelec. Crews were called to battle that blaze on the morning of November 20th with 50 to 60 firefighters responding. No one was in the building at the time and no injuries were reported. The business is owned by Don Howard, chief of the Waverly-Barton Fire Department who said he intends to rebuild. A fundraising event for employees who were left out of work by the fire raised about $25,000 before the holidays.
