2013 Economic Development Projects Underway

After being awarded more than $91 million in December, dozens of projects in the Southern Tier are beginning to take shape. Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy discussed plans for 62 benefiting programs with the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council Wednesday.
The big winners were the High Tech Job Incubator in Binghamton, receiving $7 million and Corning Incorporated, winning $3 million. On Wednesday, the Council approved money for National Pipe and Plastics, a Vestal-based company that will soon relocate to Endicott., awarding them over $350,000. The money will be used to help fund the company’s move, keeping 150 jobs in Broome County.
