Cashing a forged check has landed a Binghamton woman behind bars. 22-year-old Ashley Wolfinger of Mygatt Street was arrested on Tuesday, after she was accused of cashing a forged business check from her former employer. Deputies received a complaint from a local business, On Hour Heating and Air, that a forged check for $1,600 was cashed at a local bank. An accountant working for the company found the discrepancy in the business records while conducting a quarterly report, according to police. Wolfinger has been charged with felony counts of grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument. She was arraigned in the Town of Fenton Court and sent to the Broome County Jail.
