Firefighters in Binghamton responded to a fire at the former E.H. Titchener & Co. site Tuesday. Just after noon, firefighters were called to 67 Clinton Street. No flames were visible from the outside, but light smoke could be seen coming out of the building. Firefighters were able to force their way into the abandoned building and quickly put the fire out. No serious damage to the building was reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. This fire comes less than a week after the fire at the former Lincoln Hotel, also on Clinton Street, a fire that has now been ruled a possible arson. No injuries were reported at Tuesday’s fire. The building has been closed for business since 2005.
