Broome Community College officially broke ground on their project of bringing residence halls to campus. On Tuesday, a plan ten years in the making was finally underway after a ceremony involving several school administrators. The new residence hall, BCC’s first, will be funded through private bonds. It will be an L-shaped four-story building on the edge of the library parking lot, and will feature 65 suites as well as lounges, a gym, and a classroom. Over 300 students will be able to live on campus once construction of the new building is complete. It is scheduled to be ready for students for the Fall of 2014.
