Coyotes have been sighted this month in the Campville Commons Park in the Town of Owego. While no immediate threats have been posed to people by the coyotes, there has been a report of a coyote approaching a dog that was accompanying an individual at the park. Town officials remind dog owners to comply with the town’s leash law. If anyone does encounter a coyote, they are advised to calmly leave the area. Residents are also warned to never feed the wildlife. If anyone experiences a non-emergency involving a coyote in Owego, they are asked to report it to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office at 687-1010, as well as the Town of Owego at 687-0123, extension 7.
