The single democratic candidate for District Attorney says he is ready to bring a positive change to the office in Tioga County. Fred Luther, attorney for 29 years in Tioga County, is unhappy with how the current district attorney’s office is run. Two campaign kick-off events were held this week by the Friends of Fred Luther. In Owego on Monday night, Luther spoke with the community about how his experience and integrity will take justice to the next level. Luther attended Cornell Law School, was a judge in the village of Waverly for four years, and has twice been appointed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General as a special prosecutor. He will face the winner of the September Republican primary. The four-year term will be filled following the general election on Nov. 5.
