The White House officially confirmed Wednesday that President Barack Obama will be making a stop in Binghamton during his two-day bus tour in Upstate New York. Officials have said that the trip will be held next Thursday and Friday, August 22nd and 23rd. Obama will also visit northeastern Pennsylvania during the trip. Upstate colleges are expected to be visited by the President, including Binghamton University. BU officials say the visit to the campus is yet to be confirmed. Obama’s visit would be the third time in recent history that a sitting president has visited Broome County. President Ronald Reagan held a re-election rally in Broome in 1984 and President Bill Clinton visited in 2000 as Hillary Clinton ran for U.S. Senate in New York.
