A building was destroyed and two people were taken to the hospital after an apartment complex went up in flames early Sunday morning. Officials say the fire broke out around 5 a.m. at 1009 Castle Creek Road, the location of one of two Glen View Apartment buildings. Fire Chief Dave Leader said the fire started in one of the basement apartments. The two people living in that apartment were taken to Wilson Hospital for smoke inhalation. Leader said the fire ran up the left side of the building and the complex was destroyed. Seven fire departments responded and had the fire under control in about 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
