Binghamton mayoral candidate Ed Hickey will no longer be on the November ballot under the Eagle Party line. The Broome County Board of Elections confirmed Friday that Hickey had unregistered voters and non-Binghamton residents sign his petitions. Hickey said he won’t appeal the decision and will still run on the Republican line. In a written response, Hickey said “The fact that so many registered Democrats and Independents are excited about crossing party lines to vote for me is flattering,” and that his “bi-partisan support is now officially on the record, as well as the undemocratic actions of the Democratic party bosses.” The Republican primary is tomorrow.
