With all but seventeen absentee ballots counted, Kirk Martin appears to have officially won the Republican primary for Tioga County District Attorney. Martin received the most votes during the election last Tuesday, but the official winner has yet to be announced, after a number of absentee ballots were counted during the past three days. The absentee ballots did offer a late push for candidate Adam Schumacher. With 240 absentee ballots counted, Martin held onto the lead in the primary by 153 votes, with just the seventeen ballots left to be counted. As of Tuesday, Martin had 1,462 votes. Schumacher had 1,309 votes.
