The Loyal D. Greenman Senior Center has been sitting dormant since 2011, when damage to the building which required costly repairs forced it to be shut down. City officials have been trying ever since to sell the building, but the selling process has proven difficult for Binghamton. After the city rejected a bid of $105,000 from Gemini Construction LLC last month, some new offers have been put on the table. San Francisco businesswoman Angela Testani has offered $123,000 for the building with plans to lease it to Broome County nonprofits that would provide services to seniors and youth in the area. Another bid has come from Red Barn Technology Group, a research computing firm, which hopes to move their current offices from Front Street to the Greenman Center, after they submitted a bid of $130,000. The company would use the building to house about 20 employees. Testani has interest in the Pine Street building because she grew up on Pine Street, and owns three other properties in the area.
