A Candor native placed 20th overall at the New York City Marathon on Sunday. Christian Thompson is a 2007 graduate of Candor High School, and ran Cross Country at the University of Colorado at Boulder after high school. On Sunday, he made his marathon debut at the New York City marathon, finishing with a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes and 48 seconds, 20th overall, and the third best time for any American in the race.
