Binghamton’s City Council discussed the possibility of creating a commission devoted entirely to public arts in the city. At their meeting on Monday night, the council debated whether the idea would benefit Binghamton. The city’s public art is currently managed by the Commission of Architecture and Urban Design. Some council members believe that the commission would merely overlap the current department, while others think it could help the city’s growing art scene.
