Friends and family gathered at Saint James Church on Saturday to say goodbye to former Johnson City Fire Chief George Maney. The funeral service was held for the former chief after he passed away last Sunday at the age of 72. Maney was head of the village’s fire department from 1986 to 2001. Maney has two sons who currently serve as firefighters in Binghamton.
