An electric blanket has been determined as the cause of a house fire in Binghamton. The fire happened Saturday morning at a home on Linden Street. When crews arrived to the scene, fire was visible on the porch and living room. A mother and child were inside at the time of the fire, but both made it out safely. According to the fire marshal, the electric blanket malfunctioned.
