The Broome County Sheriff advises people to keep car and garage doors locked after a string of thefts. The office is investigating the theft of items like electronics, debit cards and credit cards from vehicles in the Town of Union. Thefts were reported in the areas of JFK Boulevard and Southern Pines Drive, and Taft Avenue and Buffalo Street. Some of the vehicles were inside garages that were left unlocked. Sheriff David Harder wants to remind people to always lock their cars and homes and also remove valuable property from vehicles. Anyone who has information regarding the car thefts can call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 607-778-1196. All calls are anonymous.
