Tioga Downs owner and CEO Jeff Gural has announced that he will be funding an Honor Flight Trip, intended to transport veterans to memorials in Washington, D.C. The trip, which is scheduled for April 12th, will transport veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and any terminally ill veterans to the memorials for the respective wars at the nation’s capital. Gural has been planning the Honor Flight trip, and now the plans have been set in motion. A flight will facilitate 50 veterans and their guardians to visit the memorials. The flight will depart from Binghamton and fly directly to the D.C. area to visit the Korean and WWII memorials on the National Mall, and a stop is also planned at the Changing of the Guards in Arlington. The flight will be met by charter buses for transportation once they are on the ground, with the buses scheduled to receive an honorary police escort. At this time, applications are still being accepted for the trip, and anyone interested should visit twin tiers honor flight dot org to download an application.
