Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman is expanding yet again. The company, the largest privately owned scrap metal processing and recycling center on the East Coast, has been acquiring scrap yards and processors throughout the Northeast for months, and has announced plans to add another yard to its empire. Upstate Shredding will be acquiring Brant Auto Parts in Brant, NY, south of Buffalo. The yard is located in Chautauqua County and specializes in recycling scrap metal, and serves Western New York. Officials say that the purchase of Brant Auto Parts was an “all cash” transaction, and that all Brant employees will be keeping their jobs. With the new acquisition, Upstate Shredding will have 18 locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania.
