A fire in the City of Binghamton on Monday afternoon resulted in Glenwood Avenue having to be closed from Clinton to Main Street. A second alarm fire at Golden Rule Lumber Center brought multiple crews to the scene just before 2:30 Monday. A pedestrian called in the fire taking place at the building, which has been closed for years. Utilities are reportedly still turned on in the building, and it took crews about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire. Building inspectors and the fire marshal were called to the scene. The cause is still under investigation.
