The Town of Owego Highway Department will be picking up branches again this year, with pick-up beginning today and running on Mondays and Tuesdays through May 1st. Nothing will be picked up after May 1st. All pick-ups must be scheduled with the Highway Department by calling 687-2641. Without a call, branch piles will be left. The department asks that branches be from your yard only, they be neatly placed along the curb or roadside in front of your home, and all large piles must be approved due to time constraints for pick-up. Items that will not be picked up by the highway department include tree trunks, roots, yard clippings, thorny brush, small twigs, and large diameter logs. Again, the number to call to schedule a pick-up is 687-2641.
