The Owego-Apalachin School District is now announcing that Owego Free Academy has made the U.S. News and World Report’s rankings of the best high schools in the country. Superintendent of the Owego-Apalachin district Dr. Bill Russell says that OFA was ranked in the top 9 percent nationwide, a ranking based on a number of factors including graduation rates and AP class proficiency. Russell also said that one of the most important aspects of the ranking was that the U.S. News and World Report found that OFA served all students well, regardless of background. OFA was in the rankings last year as well, both years receiving the U.S. News and World Report’s silver award.
