Although New York has a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing throughout the state, the debate between the advocates and opponents of drilling continues to rage on. On Thursday night in Owego, the Hubbard Auditorium will play host to a screening of a gas drilling-related film, “Groundswell Rising”. Meredith Bocek of RAFT, or Residents Against Fracking Tioga, stopped by the WEBO Morning Show today to discuss the film, which she says focuses on the testimonials of people living through drilling. Bocek also says that the film appeals to all political point-of-views. The screening will be held tomorrow night at the Hubbard Auditorium at 56 Main Street in Owego starting at 7 PM. A question and answer session with the film’s producer and a citizen journalist will follow. A $10 donation is requested at the door, with the proceeds benefitting the ongoing film tour.
