The Owego Police Benevolent Association would like to notify the public that the group has purchased a new set of stop sticks which will be used by the Owego Police Department. The tire-deflation tools will be used by the department to stop any police pursuits which are continuing through the village. This is just one purchase in addition to other safety items bought by the PBA previously, including plexiglass window barriers and gun mounts for patrol vehicles, a TV/DVD recorder for interviews, and bicycle helmets that are available to residents under the age of 14.
