The Owego Fire Department will host a remembrance ceremony tomorrow morning to mark the 14th anniversary of 9/11.The service will begin at 8:46 a.m. at the Fireman’s Statue and Fountain on the north lawn of the Tioga County Courthouse. Owego Fire Chief Dan Gavin says members of the Owego Volunteer Fire Department, Owego Police Department and New York State Police will honor all those who lost their lives in the attacks. Reverend Thomas Valenti, an administrator for the local parish and former chaplain at Columbia University, will deliver the keynote address. Ceremony Coordinator John Hitchings invites the public to attend the ceremony, which will begin with a procession from the Owego Fire Department to the statue. All Tioga County firefighters, emergency squad personnel and police who responded to the World Trade Center are invited as special guests for recognition of their service and sacrifice.
