Yesterday marked the 56th year of the annual Columbus Day parade and Tournament of Bands in Binghamton. The festivities kicked off with the parade at 10AM on Arthur Street. Ten bands competed in the Tournament of Bands, with Johnson City taking 1st place in Class A, Whitney Point taking first in Class B, and Williamson High School taking first in class C for Marching Bands. Following the Tournament of bands, the annual Italian Festival kicked off on Water Street. The festival celebrated Italian heritage, and had plenty of food for festival goers.
