At a budget hearing for the Tioga County Industrial Development Agency last night, a possible tax abatement for Tioga Downs was discussed. If passed, the tax adjustment would allow Tioga Downs to pay no new taxes on facilities built as part of their casino upgrade for a full year. After the first year, however, taxes for Tioga Downs would increase 5% annually for 20 years.
