A grand opening was held for OurSpace Park in Binghamton yesterday. OurSpace Park is the city’s first fully-accessible park for children with special needs. The project began in December of 2014 with a $500,000 grant from the state given through the Regional Economic Development Council. Construction on OurSpace Park began last year. About 5,200 volunteer hours went into constructing the park. OurSpace Park features fully-accessible playground equipment, as well as a sensory garden, tree house, and amphitheater.
