Town of Owego water customers are being asked to limit their water usage until further notice. Several days of hot weather and a lack of precipitation have left the area with drought-like conditions, and the National Weather Service does not expect any significant precipitation to arrive anytime soon. In addition, the DEC has issued a “drought watch” for the state. Water levels in town wells have dropped 15 percent since May.
