The connection between injuries and opioid addiction will be the topic of two assemblies at Maine-Endwell schools next Tuesday. Students in sixth through 12th grade will hear the personal stories of teen addiction from two local young adults currently in recovery. Caitlyn and Josh will speak to students about their path to addiction and their road to recovery. The goal is to make students aware of the connection between opioid painkillers and drug addiction in teens who suffer sports and other injuries, as well as the growing opioid addiction problem in Broome County. The students will get the chance to ask questions following the presentations.
