The New York State DOT has announced that repairs to Route 17 will not be completed until Labor Day.That means the highway will remain closed in BOTH directions between Nichols Exit 62 and Lounsbury Exit 63. Flash flooding wiped out the foundation of two bridges that cross over the Wappasening Creek earlier this week. A posted detour remains in effect.
