Campville Firefighters responded to a fully-involved equipment fire at Upstate Shredding Tuesday morning. It happened just after 9 o’clock. Nobody was injured, but a large industrial front end loader was consumed by fire. Another smaller skid steer also burned. Campville Firefighters had the fire out within a half hour of their arrival. According to Upstate Shredding an outside contractor was doing maintenance on the front end loader when it caught fire. They say the machine’s oil plug on the loader was too tight, so the contractor used a torch to loosen it.When the plug broke free, the oil behind it was ignited by the torch.
