The Susquehanna River was flooded in Owego on Saturday… this time, with kayakers. The first ever Kaying for a Kure event was held to raise money for local breast cancer fighter Jocelyn Kline and Traci’s Hope. The event started with a 10am launch from the Apalachin Boat Launch heading down river to the Boat Launch at Hickories Park. The trip took about 2 hours, with over 173 participants. The large group finished the event with a cookout, raffle prizes, music, and camaraderie for the remainder of the afternoon at Hickories Park.
