Today is National Overdose Awareness Day. The Tioga County Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will be hosting an event on Saturday, September 2nd from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm at the Tioga County Fair Grounds for Overdose Awareness Day and to kick off National Addiction Month. This event is free and open to the public. Narcan training and kits will be given during the September 2nd event. These kits include two doses of Naloxone, which is used to reverse an opioid overdose, gloves, a face mask, and alcohol wipes. If you are unable to attend Saturday’s event, Tioga County Public Health offers free Naloxone training and kits to all residents. To schedule an appointment, contact Kylie Gates at 607-687-8612.
