Binghamton man sentenced to 12 years in prison for burglary

A Binghamton man has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to burglary in the second degree.

According to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, 49-year-old Demetrius Armstrong admitted to the crime on the third day of his trial in July.

Armstrong broke into a residence in Binghamton with the intent to steal items in September of 2023.

Binghamton Police Officers found Armstrong inside the residence.

Armstrong will also have to serve five years of probation following his release from prison.
