Barton man accused of choking woman until she passed out

A Barton man is facing charges after he allegedly choked a woman during an incident in Sayre.

According to the Morning Times, 27-year-old Scott L. Franks was charged with one count each of strangulation, simple assault, obstructing administration of law, endangering the welfare of a child and terroristic threats.

Franks is accused of pinning the victim up against a refrigerator by her throat during an argument.

The victim said Franks then dragged her, while she was holding her daughter, into a bedroom and proceeded to choke her until she passed out.

Franks was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Police said he had to be restrained while in the holding cell at the Sayre Police Station.

Franks was remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $125,000 bail.
