The Animal Care Sanctuary in East Smithfield celebrated its newest addition to their facility on Friday.
A Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting was held for the Tiny Home Village Project, which currently includes 16 tiny homes for dogs.
The idea is for dogs to live comfortably without some of the stress that can be found in a traditional kennel setting.
ACS Executive Director Terri McKendry told the crowd gathered at the ribbon cutting on Friday that a 17th tiny home is expected to be completed soon, and the goal is to construct 23 additional units over the next 18 months.
