A Gillett man is facing several charges following a high-speed chase earlier this month.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 53-year-old Robert B. Shaul has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude officers, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another person and various traffic violations.

The incident began in Springfield Township last Thursday morning when a trooper responded to a report of a suicidal man in a pickup truck.

The trooper found the truck traveling on Wolcott Hollow Road in Athens Township. The truck rapidly accelerated and was seen unsafely passing another vehicle.

The suspect ignored the patrol lights and led police on a high-speed chase that went through Tioga County, Pennsylvania and into New York.

Shaul was eventually located and arrested. He was remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $200,000 bail.
