Corning Police recruit arrested by state police after investigation into domestic incidents

A recruit with the Corning Police Department has been arrested on various charges.

According to the New York State Police, 25-year-old Dylan J. Ellsworth was charged with criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, assault in the third degree and criminal obstruction of breathing.

The charges stem from an investigation into domestic incidents that allegedly occurred between August and December of last year.

The Corning Police Department received a report of the crimes and referred the case to the New York State Police.

Ellsworth was arrested last Thursday at the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy in Big Flats.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
