A Steuben County woman is facing dozens of charges of animal cruelty following a search of her home.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 54-year-old Cohocton resident Sheri King was charged with 34 counts of animal cruelty after police found more than 30 animals in various states of malnourishment and neglect.
King is accused of failing to properly house, feed or water the animals over an extended period of time, resulting in multiple serious health issues among the dogs.
The animals were removed from the property by the Finger Lakes SPCA and Hornell Humane Society.
King was released on an appearance ticket to return to Avoca Town Court.
