A former Walton math teacher has pleaded guilty to sending inappropriate messages to students.
According to the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, 41-year-old Eric Scofield pleaded guilty to three counts of felony tampering with physical evidence, five counts of misdemeanor official misconduct and one count of misdemeanor criminal contempt.
The plea comes after a months-long investigation led by the Walton Police Department and Delaware County District Attorney’s Office.
According to police, Scofield was sending inappropriate messages and photographs to several students over Snapchat from October of 2024 and February of 2026.
Scofield will be sentenced in September.
