SHARE NOW

Chemung County is taking inquiries for a state-funded Access to Home program that helps eligible residents with disabilities modify their primary homes. Low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters may qualify when a disability results from injury, age or a health condition. Covered work can include wheelchair ramps, handrails, widened doorways and roll-in showers. Arbor Housing and Development is administering applications for the county. Residents can request eligibility and application help by calling 607-654-7487, extension 2049. The program is intended to help people remain safely and independently in their homes.
